Guest guest
Hi all, This may sound like a stupid question, but, I am getting very close to my surgery date,( 10/29 ) and I guess I am getting scared and nervous... I have a question for the post-ops or anyone who may know the answer.... I know of the complications of surgery, ( anesthesia ), the complications immediately following surgery ( blood clots, wound infections, leaks,) and some of the complications post op down the road if we do not take our supplements and keep our protein levels up and stay hydrated ( malnutrition, dehydration). My question is this...how long after the surgery can we say that we are totally safe & out of the woods for life threatening complications from this surgery. Is it 30 days, 3 months, 1 year?...Or is it something that we will have to be concerned about for the rest of our lives... As long as we are taking our supplements, drinking and keeping hydrated and getting in the protein we need...Are we ok?...Is there anything else that we need to be concerned about? I'm sorry if this sounds a little morbid or negative, but it is something that I have been thinking a lot about lately...and that is starting to worry me... I would appreciate any input on these matters....thanks so much... Mia
