Unfortunately you may need a lawyer to understand quite what this means. I check for author and permission (and save the emails) before posting recipes, essays etc.. on newdiets.com, but then that's tantamount to publishing them. Posting to a mailing list is perhaps different. Then again, maybe not. If your cousin has a sister in law that's an attorney maybe ask them... or hopefully someone else has checked this out and can tell you their experience. I'm a professional web developer and wouldn't dream of posting more than a small quote w/o permission. Otherwise there'd be quite a few newspaper articles on newdiets reprinted from both mailing lists and the FEAT newsletter, but none of the publications I've asked to date has gotten back to me so I've given up on that source for articles.
