Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm new here. I started my family on the SCD about a week ago because my husband has ulcerative colitis. He is taking the diet changes rather hard, especially because he is on the basic diet right now. I am wondering what to expect as far as progress for him and how much improvement he should feel before adding new foods. Any advice and support would be greatly appreciated. Right now I'm putting on a brave face, but it's very overwhelming because I feel like I have to learn to cook all over again. Add to that our two-year-old twins and life is a bit crazy right now. Also, if anyone lives in the Charlotte, NC area and knows where to get the dry curd cottage cheese, please tell me! I am having a heck of a time trying to find it. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi j, I live in Charlotte and I have found the DCCC at Earthfare in Ballantyne. I couldn't handle it at the beginning of the diet, so I just dripped the homemade yogurt and used that. It's so much easier for me to do that, that a year later I still haven't bought and tried the DCCC again. Everyone is different though. The first several months of the diet are incredibly hard, but after a while you get in a rhythm and you're not obsessing about what to eat ALL the time. It does get better!
