Hi Brigitte,

butt-scooted for the longest time! He got so good at it, he could

butt-scoot as fast as most kids crawl. Because of low muscle tone, and the

inability to get his big head off the floor, he didn't crawl until after he

walked at 21 months of age. And before he crawled normally, he used to do

what we called " snow plowing " . Crawling around with his forehead on the

floor!

At that point we were placing him in the crawling position several times a

day (he hated it) and having him work on lifting his head, so that he could

build up his neck muscles to support his head in the upright position.

You'll also want to be close by when Bobbi first starts pulling herself up

on furniture. At that stage, couldn't bend over and catch himself to

sit down. The first thing to hit, every time he tried to get down, was his

head on the floor!
