Guest guest
Well y'all, I am off for my sleep study in a few hours. I just wanted to thank everyone who responded with their experiences. Not having any " appropriate " sleep wear, I took myself off to Lane today and bought the cutest PJ's---red flannel scrub pant types, with little black kitties all over them, and a red sleep T, with the little black kitty in the center. The coolest part though, is the construction of the pants makes them easy to wear post op and eventually take in! Ru
Guest guest
Joann Yeah, what Bruce said. I had 3 overnight studies in a sleep clinic and 4-5 overnight oximeter studies at home. One without oxygen or CPAP. One with oxygen. One with CPAP. The final upshot (after about a month and a half) was the sleep doctor put me on a variable auto adjust CPAP (there is a BIPAP option too) with the recommendation to bleed in two liters of O2 at night. My pulmo-dude said the O2 was not necessary, but I have copies of the tests and the sleep doctor flat out told me it wasn't mandatory, but there were times when she would feel better if I used the additional 2 liters. I have taken the middle road. If I am not feeling well, or have had some bad days, or the air quality is down, then I will plug in the additional O2. Like so many things with this disease, there is a moving target and you have to be able to roll with the punches and get to know yourself and how your body works. Just take it in stride... you will be fine. Stefani 61 year old Utahn LD 2/2006, NSIP (fibrotic) 10/2009, Diabetes II 2/2006, Severe Sleep Apnea 4/2009 > > > > I am really confused now!
