a stomach bulge...muscle question

Hi. I have another question for all of you. When Autumn was around 9

mos the docs noticed when she cried and strained she had a huge bulge

in the middle of her stomach...2-3 inches above the belly button, they

thought it might be a hernia up there. She had an ultrasound done and

even the ultrasound tech had to call in a doc because she couldn't tell

if it was or not...turns out Autumn's muscle is just extremely weak and

thinned out there. I was told although unusual, this would strengthen

over time. Last week her geneticist was surprised it is still there

and said they just dont' see that on kids her age (15.5 mos)...it can

be on newborns but it goes away really quickly in 1 or 2 months. I

forget what it's medical term is though. Anyone else experienced this?

Autumn's doesn't have problems with any other muscles or low muscle

tone. I was told it's really nothing they do but just very surprising

to see it on her still.
