stupid question :( is slightly sour milk ok for yogurt?

sorry guys, but thanks. can't get more milk til tomorrow night and really want to get a batch going :(and my tempermental fridge either freezes the food on the top shelf, or doesn't keep things cold enough (time to set it back to sometimes freezing!!)
