You can call the office and tell them that and that they are legally obligated to turn copies of those records over to you. They may legally charge you a small fee to copy them, etc. If you continue to have problems, let me know and I will dig up the legalese you need to get them. You may even threaten them with a lawyer but should not have to go to that extreme. This is for continued medical care and they have no business denying you your records. You may have better luck telling them to transfer them to the doctor of your choice, and sign a release for them to do that. Tell them they have a day or two to do this.
