95% CI after banding...isn't that still pretty bad?

My son started at 98% and went down to 95% after 6 weeks. His head is

still pretty flat and he has a 2 point deviation-- I think this would

still qualify him as needing a band right? CT doesn't think he needs a

second one and I'm kind of upset he was only in one for 6 weeks and it

didn't give a better correction. I'm wondering if I should just hope

it rounds out on its own or pay out of pocket for a second band (we

switched insurance and it doesn't cover it now).

I'm going to put his before and after up. Opinions would be

helpful...maybe I just think it's worse than it is.

How old is your son? Why are they taking it off after only 6 weeks? Is he not growing enough or has he outgrown the band? I personally think that 95% is still high and 6 weeks in a DOC band quite short.

Please do post pictures and give us more info.

Hi ,

Yes, it is pretty bad. My daughter started at 96% and 5 mo later

(Starband) was at 85%. Sometimes I still wish it was less. It sounds

really odd to me that they think he is done. This doesn't sound normal

for CT. I would actually recommend calling their corporate office in

Arizona and talking to someone there. Partly because I'm not confident

the local office is giving you good information. One thing about CT is

that the corporate office is very involved in what the offices do.

With Starband and Hanger they operate very independently.

Please post pics - As parents we can be the most critical... of course, if you aren;t happy then you may never be happy unless you do all you can while you can.

How old is your baby?
