Guest guest
Hi Amy, is on EleCare. This is a pre-digested, elemental formula, that is easy to absorb. I would think that because " taste " isn't a consideration with tube feeds, you would want to use a formula that is lower in sugar, and more digestible, than PediaSure. I know that Dr H recommends Pepta-Min Jr. a lot. 's EleCare is $52.50 a can, and we go through 2 cans every 3 days, BUT is continuously fed, so we would use more than you would for just night feeds. WIC and Medicaid pick up the bill for his formula, unless for some reason we run out. I would definitely check into your insurance. " Normal " baby formula is expensive enough, but when you get into some of the specialty formulas used for tube feeds, the costs can really get up there. And besides, that is what you pay your premiums for!! Hope this helps!!
