Guest guest
Can you believe that we are having our 3rd band made today? And my son has never worn it for more than a few hours. For some reason the Doc band is not fitting correctly. The back keeps pushing up and forward. I asked our clinician if it is possible that the Doc Band is not a good fit for him and she doesn't believe that to be true. I am not questioning the product or the results, I am tossing the possibility that the Doc Band just might not be for him. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this. Could another helmet give a better fit with the same results? I am just so frustrated. Time is ticking away. My son will be 5 months next week and we started this process over a month ago. Any advice or suggestions? Meryl 's Mom
Guest guest
Hello We are on our second band and only a week into it. We got our first band on June 1 and only wore a few hours here and there do to pressure points. We had it adjusted 2 times and still the same problems. Finally what they ended up doing was re scanning him, taking new photos and sending them to the CEO of the company. Our orthodist spoke with her on the phone while we waited and she said right away that the band was too small for his head. They said it was because he hit a growth spurt from the time they scanned till the time we got the band however I think they just messed up, my sons head is large but it didn't grow that much!!! Our son has pretty bad asymmetry and problems from in uetero positioning. She, the CEO, said that she would hand make his next helmet and we have been in it a week and its PERFECT!!! I would request this ASAP. We are working with the Dallas office and our clinician is if your office wanted to speak with her and see if they are running into the same things we were. She is wonderful!! Like I said I would request the CEO look at a new scan and photos, they also took the photos with and without the band. A week into his new band and I already see improvement!!! Hope this helps, I know how frustrating this is, we basically lost 3 week during this whole process that he could have been in his band. Guest guest
Meryl, I have also had the same problem with my son's DOC band. I think the younger babies (Oliver was banded at 3.5 months) are harder to band correctly because they grow so rapidly. We finally received a re-made band about a week and a half ago and just narrowly missed a growth spurt. When we went back for the one week follow-up, his noggin had grown almost 2mm! If that had happened in the week while we were waiting for the new band, it also wouldn't fit right. But it does fit right and I've seen more correction in one week of the new band then I did in almost 6 weeks in the ill-fitting one. I'm so glad I kept fighting for him, despite feeling like a neurotic, annoying parent. Keep fighting for your son and hopefully the new band will fit perfectly.
