Guest guest
Tony, All that mumbo jumbo boils down to this. Your heart has sustained damage, they have told you probably from an undiagnosed heart attack. It's not contracting efficiently, they've told you the left ventricle is not moving blood properly and the apical hypokinesis means that other areas of your heart are not functioning well either. Pulmonary hypertension is probably the most common long term complication of pulmonary fibrosis. It means as your heart struggles to get blood into your stiffening lungs the pressure in those arteries has risen to a level that they need to treat. The viagra (sildenifil) is meant to help relax those blood vessals and increase blood flow to your lungs. This is a very common treatment. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it helps! If IPF is not enuff, now thay tell me I have Pulmonay Artery hyepr tension, and something called apical hypekensis. Also mentioned the left vent at the bottom of my heart is damaged and not beating right. Stated looks like I had a silent heart attackThat is what they got from reading the echo and the ct scan. They could not view the right side of my heart cause my big ass old lungs block it.Now can someone tell me what this crap means-other than they would shoot me if i was horseOh yea the treatment they want to give me is daily virgra, sucide by sex- go figure I was just kidding when I said I wanted to go out that way
Guest guest
Tony Actually Revatio (Viagra) is an excellent treatment for PAH. Just one part concerns me. I see no mention of a right heart catheter. That is the only way to conclusively diagnose PH. An echo is not enough. My echo would indicate I have it, but my right heart catheter, my VQ scan, and my cardiac MRI prove I do not. > > Ok I need more brain power than I have.
