Guest guest
It's important to stay hydrated. Even sucking on ice chips helps if you can't keep down a lot of liquids. It sounds like you ate something. Of course if you have fever, pain, or bleeding, or this does not stop soon, you will have to go get help. You can get prescription suppositories that will stop vomiting- compazine or phenergan, but you will need to see a doctor for that. Hopefully this will stop. Suck on ice chips and stay on clear liquids- diluted legal fruit juices. Some people have posted an electrolyte drink that is legal- I don't know it. Maybe someone can post it here, so you get electrolytes too. I don't think kaopectate is legal, and it won't help in the short run. The D is tolerable if you can keep liquids down. The important thing here is to stay hydrated and get liquids in you. Even one sip every few minutes adds up. Try sipping and sucking on ice chips instead of drinking a lot at once. If you can't stop vomiting you will need IV fluids. Hope you feel better, PJ > > I'm here in Miami and got violently sick a few hrs ago. Non stop vomitting and D. Don't know what to do. You could try some peppermint tea, which is supposed to help with nausea/vomiting. I usually find that sipping on iced peppermint tea helps more than hot tea. Also, to get in electrolytes, I sipped grape juice diluted 50/50 with water with a pinch of salt dissolved in each glass. I think you want to try to keep your salt to water ratio good at least so it's easier on your body to absorb. I also tried eating ripe banana for potassium. Not sure if you would be able to keep anything down, but if you think you can, banana might be good.I hope you feel better!! Go with food as basic as you can. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids. The electrolyte drink calls for: 1 quart boiled water 2 tablespoons honey 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda Mix ingredients. Can be kept in refrigerator for 24 hours, and then a new batch should be made. You can substitute 8 ounces of a tolerated fruit juice such as white grape or apple cider for the honey.
