Guest guest
do you do dairy? Dairy intolerance is a frequent cause of acne. > > Hey everyone...has anyone else experienced this? I've been breaking out really badly since starting the SCD diet. At first I thought it was simply hormonal, but it's persisting... has never had bad of a break out since I was in college, so it's really troubling. > > Is it a sign of the baddies dying, or something else? >
Guest guest
yeah actually . But, I think my cheese and daiy consumption is actually down from what it was pre-SCD (used to eat ice cream like it was going out of style) and only broke out occasionally then... I eat cheese -- but, not as much as I did ... But, maybe it is the cheese > > > > Hey everyone...has anyone else experienced this? I've been breaking out really badly since starting the SCD diet. Guest guest
Is it a sign of the baddies dying, or something else?I'm not sure on this, but I think acne could be one way your body gets rid of toxins. Might just be a little adjustment/detoxing phase. If it doesn't clear up in a few days though I'd try to figure out if it could be a food sensitivity. Guest guest
I agree with Alyssa. The skin is the largest organ so since you are so new, it may just be like it gets worse before getting better. Kind of like trying a new skincare routine and your face breaks out, all the iimpurities come to the surface but when all that clears up, you have great skin. If it doesn't clear up, tea tree oil is supposed to be really good for skin. Debbie 41 cd Is it a sign of the baddies dying, or something else? Guest guest
I had similar problems, and it wasn't like a traditional pimple here or there, the bumps were just filled with clear liquid. I never had much of a problem with acne, even as a teenager, so it was quite surprising and timely just about week 2 of SCD. I'm at week 8 now and it seems to be getting better...hopefully that trend will continue. I DO think it was another side-effect of die-off. Guest guest
thanks Dana. I thought I was the only one. I'm actually consuming less dairy than I did in the past (and never broke out while eating it) so I don't think it's the dairy. I've also been strict with the diet (although I've had those temptations from time to time -- but haven't given into them). It just started a week or so ago (around my third week on the diet) and has been nonstop. I think it's related to the die off, too.
Guest guest
I remember breaking out at first, and it went away pretty quickly. The body goes through all sorts of adjustments. I also had weird tartar buildup for a couple of months while I adjusted. how long have you been on SCD? SCD 3.5 yrs > > Hey everyone...has anyone else experienced this? Guest guest
I always had an acne-prone skin. My skin was oily with blackhead and bumps. It didn't get worse when I started SCD last year, but now for the past few months, its getting SO much better. No pimples anymore, my acne scars are healing and my parents say I have a very healthy foundation. I'm also using expensive skin-care products though. It's from Estherderm. I think it might be helping. Be patient. Like the others, I think rash is caused by the detoxifiying process in your body. Especially if you are losing weight, considering many toxins accumulate in the fat. Drink lots and lots of water. Annie > > > > > > Hey everyone...has anyone else experienced this? Guest guest
Same, Annie. I've always had acne, as well. I'm going to stick with the diet and watch a while, and double up on water. > > > > > > > > Hey everyone...has anyone else experienced this?
