Guest guest
Beth - I truly and honestly have tried to be very open to your postings. I am waiting for my copy of " Life Without Bread, " etc., and as you know, I encouraged you to write a personal story for the MAGIC newsletter. But the latter postings are absolutely overwhelming for me. I just have a very difficult time with statements of yours that are blanket statements, and rely upon a single article by a single person -- whose article is more like a dissertation than an actual study of a specific point. I am sure there are numerous people who could write a " point-for-point " article back finding fault with much of what she says. Your statement that " ... this will also help explain why the Food Pyramid is also wrong. " Not " may be wrong " but " is ... wrong. " and " ...why convention medicine's stance... HAS been inaccurate for the apst 50+ years " (not " may " be inaccurate, or " much " may be inaccurate, but a blanket " they are all 100% wrong. " I truly believe that part of what you write is very correct. But I simply can not dig my way through all of the rest of this. I still believe that the listserve is available for any to post, if the info is accurate or presumed in all honesty to be accurate. I would be far more inclined to read your postings if they were shorter. For example, you could simple write that you disagree with whomever, and that there is this great article that is 20,000+ words long, and if anyone wants a copy, they should email you privately. You could even bullet point some of the articles findings. Anyway. I won't get into a discussion on whether or not you are correct or the FDA is correct or the Australian health organization is correct. I do not have ANY background or trained knowledge to make such comments. I would just plead that you please, if you want me to read your postings, please please make them shorter. Guest guest
It always makes me feel uneasy when anyone says, " Conventional medicine is wrong " . Conventional medicine is not just one doctor or one researcher. It covers a body of study and of evidence. I do not think that nearly every researcher and doctor is corrupt or fooled or taking money from food and drug manufacturers. I think that although we need to keep our eyes open and be alert to the fact that drug manufacturers probably do have a little too much influence in our current medical world, we also have to believe that, for the most part, doctors are doing the best they can for us. I am always a little suspicious of 'the one doctor in the world who has figured it out', particularly when their ideas are so different from the standard.
