Guest guest
Is Colostrum legal? The first sentence in wiki said something about a laxative effect. I couldn't even read the wiki article, I'll pass and I'm usually the first one to jump on anything iron-related (even ostrich meat if/when I can afford it!). debbie 41 cd http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU309/ItemDetail?n=0 Um, is this really OK? I see the Swanson's one here says " milk-derived protein " , and when I first read about it it said it mostly comes from colostrum, which I wasn't at all sure was legal for us. I hope it is, I could use the iron, too.
Guest guest
I think it's just the protein that was taken from it. I'm not trying to push this supplement in anyone's medicine cabinet. I just know that another SCD member here said they had success with this and monolaurin along with SCD and the additives are all legal. Like I said, I just got my shipment and plan to start it after I'm off flagyl. If you like, I can post my results/symptoms while I am on it and you can decide for yourself if you want to try it. Again, I'm not encouraging anyone to try it, but I haven't heard it's illegal and if you do a search on breakingtheviciouscycle.info you see both Seth and Elaine mention it... Seth writes: Seth writes:Lactoferrin is an iron-binding protein. It actually binds to iron in our food. It helps starve the bacteria of iron by keeping it away from them. In another article he writes: There are certain supplements you can take to help absorb iron better. For one, Vitamin C binds to iron in food and helps facilitate the transportation of iron across the intestines into the bloodstream. Lactoferrin, a protein the body uses to bind to iron, can also be useful if taken by supplement. It binds tightly to iron, keeping it from catalyzing oxidative reactions, keeping it away from pathogenic bacteria, and also helps the body absorb the iron. Lactoferrin supplements can be expensive.
