Hi ,

We have the same problem. Dr H wants us to up the Miralax so

goes every day, but that is just impossible. If we up the Miralax,

he still doesn't go every day and he gets diarhea. goes about

every other day now (which is much better than before the Miralax)

and I just don't worry about it.

HI. All I can tell you is what the doc told us about my 2 1/2 yr old

(non RSS with MAJOR constipation issues). He has been on Mirilax for

over a year and has the same situation. He has a bm every 2-3 days

regardless of the Mirilax amount. His doc says that that is 'his'

schedule and not to worry. It is consistant (been that schedule for

1 1/2 yrs)and when he does go, it is not painful or bloody, it is

easy to pass. She said that different kids have different norms for

bms and we just want him to not be in pain. The runny BM sounds like

it may be too much Mirilax, but I'd call the ped and ask. Maybe try

3/4 tbsp.

Hope this helps a little.

Liam goes everyother day to every 3rd day and the Endo here is fine with

that, for now. She did not want to make too many changes today because of

the thyroid issues starting back up. She also thinks it could have something

to do with the Thyroid and wants to see if the Synthyroid helps.. If not we

will decide if anything else needs to be added in April at his next

appointment....

Thanks, Judith for your reply. What dose are you giving? I would

rather Colin go every other day than have diarrhea and have him fear

going so maybe we need to back off a little on the dose.

Hi ,

I have to check. I keep a measuring spoon set up with the medicine

and I can't remember if it is a teaspoon or a tablespoon. I am at

work, but will see if I can get my husband to check before he leaves

for work.

Hi ,

I've had better luck with a heaping teaspoon of Benefiber in 2oz of water, mixed

and put in his g-tube. Sometimes I think Henry needs more water but that amount

usually produces a BM for him without any loose stools at least every other day.

I could never get the right combination of Miralax to work for Henry - it's

rather difficult I think.

Henry - 4 1/2yrs old, 40in, 36lbs,

RSS/g-tube/fundo/pyloro/prilosec/periactin/zantac/benefiber/nutropin/peptamen jr

- 9yrs 45lbs, 48in nonRSS - and yes she is the one who is too small in

our household. Can you believe just as the one with RSS gets a chart for the

first time in 3yrs, my daugther drops off to the gray area of below 3% - Some

day I just want to take my kids to the doctor, any doctor and have them say

" Mrs. Hurlin, everything is fine "
