I haven't heard of a baby with hearing aids since I've been on the board, but I

can't imagine your son would be the only one to ever wear them with a helmet.

What kind of helmet will he be getting? They should be able to shave away enough

of the ear holes to make room for the hearing aids (I would say in a lot of

instances, there would already be enough room behind the ears, I think my son's

ear holes were pretty spacious). Hopefully you'll be working with an experienced

ortho who will have no problem making the appropriate adjustments. Good luck!

how this is going to work. My five month old son has worn aids since he was 3

months old , and its looking like he will be needing the helmet also. Can they

do a custom fit? So far I havent been able to find anyone else in my same

predicament........Jessie

A helmet and a band are the same thing.. I would imagine that band comes from 'DOC Band' which is Cranial Technologies version.. but it's the same difference. I really don't think you will have a problem with hearing aids and a helmet/band, at least not a DOC Band (the only kind I have experience with). It does not cover the ears, and the ear area is actually pretty spacious.
