We ask some of the darnedest things on these lists, yes. Just as a point... with all the two of you have on your plate, it's a wonder you're not falling over, both of you. Stress and emotional exhaustion can take it out of you, especially when there's no relief from it. Harry and I had some of that back in September and October, when my Mom was so ill. We were going over there just about every evening to help Dad take care of her, and I was spending a number of nights over there watching her so Dad could get some sleep. Then, after she died, we had all the memorial service arrangements and so forth. After which, at work, it was Christmas Retail Season. Funny thing... sex drive was next to non-existent. AFTER Christmas, though, when Harry had a couple weeks of vacation, and I did, too, well.... <evil grin> I really don't think SCD causes a lack of sex drive. I think it's stress. You do know that Elaine used to say that she could have marketed the diet real easily if she'd called it " the fertility diet, " because so many people have such improved health on it that many SCD couples were ending up pregnant within a year or so of starting. And the last time I checked, there's only been one pregnancy which resulted without sex. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Hi Dawna, My two cents? My sex drive absolutely disappeared when I got sick (and my issues are largely autoimmune). It just simply went away. With time on SCD, it's come back (and yahoo to that), but is a bit inconsistent. But even with the variation in desire, it's still like welcoming an old friend back. I hope it continues to return with more time on SCD and better health, and for you and your husband also. Ellen > > My husband and I have been talking about this topic. We also have three children, 6 and under (one with autism and one with diarrhea - well neither of them since SCD - YAY)... but, we had all that before December and it wasn't an issue at all. > > So... just wondering if I could hear from other guys or from women whose husbands also might have had this happen to. > > BTW - I suspect my husband has yeast issues as well. Guest guest
I have been thinking of this for two weeks now. When I got really sick, mine disappeared completely and I'm 25! It's starting to come back now though, so I take it as a sign I am getting better.__________________________________________________________________CDSCD 6 monthsLialda, PurinetholFreeda Vitamins, L. His low energy by the end of the day could be a sign that his cortisol levels are dipping as well as not enough calories. Stress over a long period will do that. Make sure he gets enough salt and potassium (bananas). And make him relax (epsom salt baths or wine?) and get about 8 hours sleep and it should help. If it continues, I would definitely find an integrative medicine doctor and get the adrenals and thyroid checked. Stress really depletes the body of vitamins and minerals and that can cause adrenals and thyroid (among other things) to not function optimally.AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Wed, April 21, 2010 12:30:15 AMSubject: Low sex drive on SCD My husband and I have been talking about this topic. Guest guest
THANKS EVERYONE!! I feel better for just having asked. A few things I've noted: 1. Depletion of minerals and vitamins - I wonder if I should get him some multivitamins? 2. Thyroid stuff - hmmm... we suspect that he crashes if he doesn't eat every two hours.. never did get him checked for hypoglycemia.... hmmm... To answer one person's autoimmune question: Neither of us know what is going on and why our kids have so many issues. I suspect yeast in my husband for UMPTEEN reasons: 1. 5 rounds of antibiotics in less than a year with his docs thinking he had a sinus infection. *rolleyes* - Never did do the probiotics. 2. Turns out, all that time, he had a FUNGAL infection in his sinus cavity (fungal ball) with TWO strains of different fungi. 3. They say you don't need antifungals after that surgery but COME ON!!! 4. He worked in a " feed mill " before his headaches all started and of course with grains comes many fungi. 5. This has nothing to do with it, per se but, for others' curiosity's sake... my husband also has anxiety issues which, I'm sure, does not help... his dad and dad's father has it as well. MY side of the family have autoimmune issues (EVERY woman on my mom's side has rheumatoid, for instance. I suspect I have it as well. You all are AMAZING!! THANK you!!
