I have an Oster Convection toaster oven. It came from Costco. So far it's been a trooper. I use it every day. Multiple times. I don't own a microwave so everything is either cooked in the toaster or on the stove. As for knives... do NOT buy cheap ones. Really. If you are going to buy a few to start I highly recommend the 6" or 8" cooks knife (http://www.wusthof.com/desktopdefault.aspx/52_view-121/categories-121/tabid-75/105_read-954/categories-210) and a paring (http://www.wusthof.com/desktopdefault.aspx/52_view-121/categories-121/tabid-75/105_read-101/categories-210). Then there's the serrated bread knife. Oh I could go for more but that would be a great start. This is the best place to get Wusthof knives. They sell reconditioned for 1/2 off. I've bought my knives through them. Never online. Only in person but they have great deals. http://www.eversharpknives.com/michelleFrom: Ruth Hirsch To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Thu, April 22, 2010 10:22:44 PMSubject: Re:Oven and knives

Hi,

I would want to check and see if convection ovens have been reviewed

by neutral source. Neither Consumer Reports not Cooks Illustrated

takes advertising. They buy and review products. There is also a web

site called: http://www.consumersearch.com

Which gathers reviews. It can be very helpful.

Enjoy your new oven.

Dear SCDers',

I need to buy a convection over for the countertop for day to day

grilling, baking etc. I don't want to use the big oven for stuff like

almond breads, cheese cake. What brand should i buy? I looked at

cuisinart today, it says it can hold upto 12" of pizza, it broils,

bakes, toasts etc. Anybody has any experience with the oven, pls share.

Also was looking for good knives? Pls suggest.

Thanks
