I have an upcoming consult and I only want a DS. Am I going to > have a hard time? > > DR HERRON IS A GENTLEMAN, He will give you the BPD/DS...if you want, and meet all the medical parameters. He will mention that it is a tougher surgery, with more risk. He will ask you again if you want the RNY or BPD...and why! He does seem to favor the RNY, because it is less complex and drastic. He does NOT do distal RNY, and does not even like to do medial. He is a very conservitive surgeon, low key and skilled. This is exactely what I wanted. Not so gung-ho LAP ONLY, that when he ran into a tough spot, he opened me up with a 3 and 3/4 inch incision, that healed and felt just like a Lap incision, and ripped my gallblader out, retooled my inards, took his sweet time (7 1/2) hours and told my wife it was just BEAUTIFUL!! The biggest problem was HIS back was killing him from such a long surgery. You are in fabulous hands, enjoy your BPD/DS....see ya at the medium size rack at Macys.........no, I do not wear womens clothes ?
