Guest guest
I have IPF and diabetes and am participating in the Bosentan drug trial. My pulmonologist told me to get the normal flu shot now and the H1n1 when it is made available to seniors. Go figure. Right up til now I was told not to get them as they hadn't tested them against the trial drug. The results are just as confusing as rocket science to me. They said the shots will not affect the drug as it is not a live virus. But what they don't know is how the drug will affect the flu shots. Or if I am getting 5mg will it affect it less than if I am on 15mg. Not to mention if it is placebo it is all for nothing. Unofficially I am probably getting some of the drug due to my reaction after the first 2 infusions. What dose who knows. Also it is possible that the drug could diminish the effect of the shots but they don't know to what degree. If I get a reaction is it from the shot or the trial drug reacting to it? They just don't know. So the question is, do I or don't I. I am leaning towards getting it as I believe in being proactive rather than reactive and let the chips fall where they may. I guess I am just looking for varying comments. Help! Merf2 IPF
