That is why it is great that they base the common channel on small intestine

measurements. My small intestine measurement was only 600cm. That is a full

370 cm shorter than yours. It certainly makes sense that I would have a much

smaller common channel. I guess 10% of 600 is closer to 50 than 75 and

therefore Dr. Hess made my common channel 50cm.

Don't despair!! I saw that you have gained since surgery--

When I laft the hospital 6 days post op I had only lost 4 pounds. My

sister had measured me and I had lost 1/2 to 1 1/4 inches everywhere

except my tummy--where it was plus 1 1/2. You swell and get alot of

excess fluid called ascites in the abdomen post op. It will

gradually subside. I am almost 4 weeks out and still feel the

swelling. But I've lost 26#s!!!

Hope your recovery continues uneventfully.!!
