Guest guest
I don't have a lot of respect for the government > agencies that are controlled by lobbyist. I think the food pyramid is > propaganda generated through the government by the wheat industry to generate > more wheat sales at the risk of the health of the populace. According to > this article, the same thing is happening with soy. It is an interesting > read. I think it may be especially important for people depending upon soy > for protein after having a malabsorption type of surgery. > Pam Hi Pam! I don't depend on government agencies to tell me about soy. I've read plenty of non-government reports on how the consumption of soy affects the asian population in a positive way. Yes, they eat a lot of fresh fish, as well, as do I. I recently changed my eating habits because I choose not to eat red meat or poultry due to all the crap that goes into them before they ever get to our table. I prefer my protein intake without the benefit of hormones and other chemical additives. However, please don't think that I'm trying to pretend I'm perfect. I DO eat cheese and absolutely love it. But, I figure I'm doing my body a lot less harm eating mainly fresh fish and soy than by eating large amounts of red meat and poultry grown on factory farms. Don't automatically doubt the authenticity of a report simply because it comes from our government. By the way, what report are your referring to? Guest guest
> I just found an interesting article about soy. Hi again Pam! I just read the soy article and considering the source, and all the other articles on that web site, it seems to me that it's full of just as much progaganda as the stuff our government shovels down our throats. Obviously, this is a site that promotes an " Atkin's " type lifestyle and pushes red meat above other healthy foods. I'm not trying to start an argument about which is the better healthy lifestyle. I just feel that as long as we have a variety of foods in our diet (and of course eat protein first - including soy if you happen to enjoy it) then we are all going to do just fine. Guest guest
I am wondering if anyone out there feed their darling children soy (milk, formula, cheese, etc.)? We are STILL WAITING for baby LeeAnn to get home. My family is dairy free right now and its been great. My oldest child is autistic and on a Gluten and dairy free diet. We will have two special diets if we need to (happily if it helps LeeAnn). Just curious.
