Guest guest
Hi, can anyone tell me at what age their RSS children ate any other kind of food other than puree's, as my 10 month old daughter is only taking a small about of pureed food a day, and my health visitor is really pushing for me to start on lumpier foods, but she is only just able to cope with tiny amounts of puree's and even gags on them sometimes, so I am afraid of trying other foods for fear of her throwing up her milk and loosing out altogether, does anyone have an insight into this subject that will help? Guest guest
Hin Brigette Christian really didn't cope at all well with lumpy food but managed better with finger foods. It was a bit of a no win situation because we either gave him finger foods and we would get bored very quickly and eat very little but seemed to enjoy eating or we gave him lumpy food that sometimes he ate more but also was much more likely to 'throw up' five minutes later.I think I mentioned before that we tried to give him food that had the highest calories for the smallest amount of food and tried everything even heating up fromage frai or cornish clotted cream icecream because he gagged more often on very cold things.Good Luck Jo[herts] Food > > > Hi, can anyone tell me at what age their RSS children ate any other > kind of food other than puree's, as my 10 month old daughter is only > taking a small about of pureed food a day, and my health visitor is > really pushing for me to start on lumpier foods, but she is only > just able to cope with tiny amounts of puree's and even gags on them > sometimes, so I am afraid of trying other foods for fear of her > throwing up her milk and loosing out altogether, does anyone have an > insight into this subject that will help? > > Brigitte (mum to Bobbi 10 months 10lb 7oz, 60cms) > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Brigitte, I think that you should feed her what she will take and tolerate. If you try to push her to take things that she is not ready for, then you will see she will start to reject ALL oral feeds. You are the mom. You know what your child will eat. Stick with what you know and trust yourself. Others often have " suggestions " but they have not walked in your shoes. Use those Mommy Instincts.
