Great idea and I would love to participate. I think we all should include our

insurance information as well!

Hey, ya know alot of people have trouble finding WLS friendly PCP. I had

problems finding one in my area because so many doctors haven't kept up with

the progress in WLS and so they are against it due to the old " booger

stories " from the earlier surgeries. Could we add to one of the existing

sites or could someone who knows how start a WLS friendly PCP doctor site?

(I came across a " fat friendly doctor " site that helped me find my GYN.) It

could be where you could search by state and then by city......I'd be

willing to add my doctor's name....he is great!!

Jerry,

I think this is a really good idea. I don't know about anyone else, but

until I found my current PCP, I avoided doctors like the plague. As a

matter of fact, I hadn't been to the doctors office in over 6 years because

it seemed that in the past no matter what I was there for the doctor would

always " blame " it on my weight. (Even if I had the flu or a sore throat.)

If the doctors were ever able to help me with my weight issues it wouldn't

have been so bad, but I believe the majority of physicians really do not

understand morbid obesity. They just keep telling us to loose weight. I

strongly felt like the doctors thought I was blind/stupid/lazy etc. After

all who would willingly weigh close to 400 lbs. and not try to do something

about it. Anyway, a friend of my told me about her physician who was

respectful and very knowledge about WLS. I saw him about 2 weeks ago for a

urinary tract infection and told him that I was planning on having WLS after

the first of the year. He was very supportive and I am actually looking

forward to working with him again as I progress along this journey.
