Guest guest
Although using Vicodin for a short period of time should not cause addiction, be very cafeful with Vicodin, it is much more addictive than most doctors even realize. If you talk to an Addictologist Doctor, he/she will say it should NEVER be prescribed for long term pain management. Nor should any narcotic be prescribed for long term pain management. I have had to learn this in my family the hard way. In this situation, we had no clue the addictive power that vicodin has. Many doctors have no idea about addicition and pain medicine. My family member specifically told doctors--and everyone he came in contact with-- in the ER when he was there for kidney stones that he was a prescription drug addict and that no narcotics could be given. Guess what??? When he left the ER, they put a prescription for a drug that is a (I don't remember the name of it) narcotic in his hand. Luckily he checked with the Addictologist before taking it.
