Guest guest
OMG, Carole, how are you doing? I am calling my doc on Monday to get the patch and to have my quitting medically documented (per Dr Rossi). Do you notice any changes (like breathing, smells, etc) yet? Good luck! dee --- Judie Hensel wrote: > - haven't had a cigarettes since last > Sunday (2 weeks tomorrow). > Carole>>>>>>>> > __________________________________________________

It is usually back by the pharmacy, not out in the open (tho it was out in the open in Target). I have noticed a slight ability to smell some things I never noticed before (mostly my car's exhaust - great, huh?) I am using the patch, wellbutrin (which does seem to help when I am having a particularly strong craving) and the gum. Now, " they " say don't use the gum with the patch or the patch with the gum. However, I would have NEVER made it this far without both. I use the gum when I feel like forgetting about quitting and just smoking. It gets me over that " hump " . I hope as time goes on, I will use less and less gum. It still isn't easy and I have to keep talking to myself. Most of the time it isn't bad, its just that after a few days of no problem, one day will be particularly hard with cravings (a week ago Friday was the worst and today isn't easy, either). At those times, I chew the nicotine gum and remind myself that if I can make it 3 weeks, it takes 3 weeks to get a new habit. There are so many levels to this addiction - sometimes its just the psychological (being angry, upset, etc. and saying I just want a cigarette) but most of the time the hard part is the physical addiction. Geeze - after this I will have to conquer the same with the weight and food (after the DS) because from what I've seen here, there can be " head " hunger after the DS, wanting food just for emotional reasons even if not hungry. But at least with the DS, you have a chance to overcome. I hope I do get approval for the DS.
