Guest guest
Cathy, At least with Blue Shield the will still approve the DS, so I think you will be OK once your switch is complete. Do you live within 35 miles of USC? Some HMO's won't let you join IPA's that are further out. I suggest you keep the appoinement with Dr. A and self pay (it is expensive $400, but it will keep things rolling) and then as soon as you get the new IPA, get a referal. I think the DS is well worth it, but it is a personal decision. The DS is more effective, though the RNY isn't terrible in that respect. The side effects are different, and you have to decide yourself which ones you can live with. Good Luck, Hull > Hi Gang, > I am really confused.
