Oh Peg-o'-my-heart...I love ya...

I'm sending get better wishes to you hard and fast! You have to go for the two of us.

I'm so sorry you are not as strong as you want to be.

I had pfts and blood gas yesterday. Seem to still be stable which is lucky of course. The blood gas shows my O2 at 68, 60 is severely low

The RT tells me. Waiting for doc to call...

It took 3 RTs and 5 tries to get that blood!! Ye gAD. I was tired enough by then that I said on the last attempt "it had better work this time 'cause I couldn't any more!"

What does the o2 being that low mean...do you know? I guess I can

take it that I need to use my o2 more.

God bless you dear heart.

Re: Re: Chattanooga plans

Bruce, Thanks for your concern for me. My Dr. just sent an e-mail and will be calling me anytime now.

She is away but I will go tomorrow if need be. There are a lot of very good Dr.'s there.

Clinic day is Wed. I get tired thinking about getting ready to go.

We'll see. I will keep ya posted. I actually think I feel a little better today. Breathing is still a major problem.

I am using 6L all day long and 8 to 9 when I get up on my feet.. sats drop quickly so I am playing games and reading

a lot these days.

I AM GOING TO CHATTANOOGA ! ;D

SherThe reference you refer to is your PaO2 or partial pressure ofoxygenation. Normal is 75-100 mmHg, although it does vary some by lab. There are other measurements often taken in ABG's as well. It is used tomeasure carbon dioxide, pH, oxygen saturation and bicarbonite. Best waituntil the doctor can interpret the full results and discuss with you. Wewould expect any of us to have abnormal results.I went through similar to you the only time I had an ABG and it took 8misses before they got an artery. Now, mine was suppose to be underexertion and by that time I was fully rested so basically it wasn't ofany real benefit. In addition my doctor didn't trust the reading. Ididn't retake it and am in no hurry to do so.> >> >> > Hi everyone,> > Just in case there is anyone coming to Chattanooga who I don'thave> > on our email list I'm posting this here. Hi ,

I don't know if NAC can help anyone, I only know what happened to me. My last CT showed improvement. The only thing I did different was to take NAC. I can't say you will improve, because we are all so different, and there are so MANY types of PF. I would say its worth a try, some others on the board have said they couldn't tolerate it but, I have no problem with it.

you can purchase it on line at Purtians Pride, or any health food store. Some recommend you talk to your Dr. before taking anything over the counter but many Doctors have never heard of NAC (my Dr. for one) so of course they won't recommend it. I am one to take things in my own hands and do what I feel is best for me.

On my initial visit to the pulmonolo gist he wanted to put me on predisone and I said I'd take it into consideration and then after finding out all the horrible side effects I decided not to take it. When I can't breathe anymore I will reconsider, right now, I'm enjoying each day to the fullest, doing what I want until I am knocked down a notch, which I know will happen...Just hope its not too soon...
