Guest guest
n, it's hard to say whether it was the casein or lactose that he had the sensitivity too because I eliminated both gluten & casein @ the same time & he just got better with time & then the removal of soy. Is there anyway to know or check before hand which one? The thing I've learned with casein is that it's the protein he can't digest, because he's not allergic to it on the ige or igg test. Thanks so much!Sent from my iPhone Have you looked at pecanbread.com. It is a SCD site for kids with ASD and it is dairy free to avoid any problems with casein. They have a yahoo group too. Guest guest
I'm going to reiterate what PJ said. Are you a member of pecanbread? They are the experts in preciselythese kind of questions. The people there have much more experience dealing with these questions than we do, since it is a listspecifically for kids with ASD and SCD. pecanbread.comn, it's hard to say whether it was the casein or lactose that he had the sensitivity too because I eliminated both gluten & casein @ the same time & he just got better with time & then the removal of soy. Generally, what is recommended in situations where a known issue occurs is to start SCD dairy-free, and let the gut heal for a few months before trying to add the yogurt. In addition, many people find that SCD 24 hour yogurt made with goat's milk or sheep's milk becomes tolerable once the gut heals. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
