Heya Debbie,

Excedrin contains aspirin which is bad news for the gut.

What do you need it for, like muscle issues? There is a great topical

homeopathic cream called Topricin

http://www.topricin.com/

There is also homeopathic Traumeel.

Both sold at Whole Foods or any health food store.

What about getting a prescription pain killer?

Or even an NSAID but in a one time injection?

bummer to be experiencing discomfort, I hope it goes away soon!

Debbie

I’ve

become allergic to acetaminophen (Tylenol and several other brands) after being

on Lortabs for a month back when I was seeking a diagnosis, so with the

approval of my doctors I take the occasional ibuprofen or aspirin. But I

don’t have an IBD. I am dealing with spinal deterioration so very

occasionally have severe pain that requires I take a narcotic pain reliever; I

have a small supply on hand for just these occasions. Ordinarily I just

use ibuprofen once or twice over a day every few weeks, a dose of aspirin once

a month or two when I get a stress migraine. So far, no problems have

developed with my digestive system from using a NSAID. But again, I am

not dealing with an IBD.

I

just endure the episodes of severe nerve pain that occur once in a while, since

my body rejected the Lyrica my neurologist was wanting me to take.

Fortunately these episodes don’t occur often or last too long since I’ve

figured out what the triggers are and my deterioration is progressing slowly,

thank goodness.

Anyway,

you’ve been on SCD long enough that you should have healed a good deal,

so that using the occasional NSAID like ibuprofen or aspirin might be

tolerated. BUT check with your doctor first, since you don’t want to

cause any more harm.

My

decision was to stay away from acetaminophen since it triggers a severe allergic

response, and go ahead and use ibuprofen or aspirin as long as I only used it

occasionally, and my doctors approved. In fact my doctors have told me I

could take a ibuprofen or aspirin much more often than I do without suffering

any damage. Still, I don’t want to risk excessive bleeding, so I take

just enough but not too much or too often.

I know

this subject has been up lately.

I have some type of problem with acetaminophen (Tylenol and Excedrin). I

never could take Tylenol and that's what is recommended. The Motrin,

Ibuprofin, Alleve, etc. I was told to avoid all of them except Tylenol. I

can do generic Excedrin much better but now I think since it has

acetaminiphen sp) that I should stop using it.

Any ideas?

I have the arnica pills also.
