Guest guest
Hi , Changing your eating habits CAN be really hard. I don't have personal advice here as I spent 27 years before I found SCD slowly finding what works for me and doesn't (and had trouble giving up plenty of things, too). But I read an interesting article awhile back. This guy ate a " normal " American diet, was overweight, had heart trouble, diabetes, smoked, didn't exercise. Then he had a heart attack. All of a sudden (from his point of view) his doctor insisted he had to change his entire life: give up smoking, exercise, and of course change his diet completely from what he liked to much much healthier. He said, " I can't do all that " . But he thought about it and told the doctor he just could not do all that all at once, but he would work on it. So what he did was pick two things to change, do that for a couple of months until it was comfortable, then pick two more things to change, etc. After about 18 months he had made all the changes, lost weight, heart and diabetes much better, etc. He got there, but slowly, which I think many times is a lot easier on the body anyhow. Good luck to you, I understand thoroughly that sugar/processed grains do not nourish the body at any level (perhaps psycologically) but I haven't found the resolve to stop eating them (I understand there is a level of addiction involved).
