Guest guest
If they work for you, IMO, it's always best to stay away from the steroids, so yeah, if pentasa works for you, it is the better choice. If you have problems tolerating the amount of the dose, try using only one half or one quarter, until you hit something okay. Mara > Does anybody have experience of these? The doctor recommended two possible courses of action to get my inflammation down - a short course of oral prednisolone or the pentasa liquid enemas. I opted for the latter but haven't got them from the chemist yet and have started thinking that I made the wrong choice. > > I am worried about the long-term effects of the pred and vowed never to use it again but it would sort the problem out quickly and be a lot less hassle than the enemas. > > Are the enemas worth the hassle or should I go for the quick blast of pred? > > Thanks for reading. > > Mike > > UC 8 years > SCD 1 year 11 months > > > > ------------------------------------ > >
Guest guest
Thanks Mara. Sound advice as usual! I was blinkered by the quick fix. You are right though. Not worth the hassle / side effects of the steroids. I'll give the pentasa a go.
