Guest guest
Bill We have board members in the Epstein-Barr research. It's a herpes virus. As many as 95% of those between 35 and 40 have been infected by it. Yet as to a full breakout of mono, most of us either had it or are immune now. However, I know many who have gotten it over 40. Then you have the recent revelations on HPV. So, it appears that the vast majority of us are carrying around one or more viruses that may or may not ever impact us. There are many of these that may be causing problems we have no suspicion of yet. > > I'm in the process of being listed at UPA in Philadelphia, and they told me > that over half the people in the U.S. have one particular blood disorder > that's technically a form of herpes and that most don't even know about it. > The doc said that since I don't have it, and since having it would > increase the chances of rejection of a lung, that when it comes time, I would be > asked to decide if I wanted to go ahead with it, if the donor was one who > had it. Guest guest
Bill, Like we don't have enough to deal with, now a blood disorder can be an issue. I still don't know what I want to do, but I wish everyone well who does. The doc said that since I don't have it, and since having it would increase the chances of rejection of a lung, that when it comes time, I would be asked to decide if I wanted to go ahead with it, if the donor was one who had it. Otherwise I could wait for another one. I found that to be pretty interesting. Actually, this is all pretty interesting.
