Guest guest
,I always soak mine covered on the counter top, the fridge isn't needed, but I would make sure it isn't in sunlight either. They are supposed to swell like so make sure you put the water level to cover at about 3 inches above the level of the beans. I usually put a plate or plastic wrap over the top of the soaking dish so that there isn't wild fermentation -- we don't want fermentation.AmeliaFrom: sandlmarie To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Tue, May 4, 2010 2:50:23 PMSubject: navy beans I have read that we need to soak navy beans overnight before cooking. Do we soak them on the counter or in the refridgerator? They seem to get fluffy on the counter and i have read that they ferment at room temperature when in water. Is that what we want? Haven't tried in the fridge.... just not sure Thanks, lisa UC 14 years SCD 1 year and 2 days, lol no meds
