Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is Doreen V. I am 23 yrs. old, and interested in the BPD/DS procedure with Dr. Herron of Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC. I was wondering if anyone had Medicare or United Health Care insurance cover this procedure and what did they require? I don't really have many physician supervised diet attempts, most of my diets have been like Weight Watchers, Craig, and other programs like that...but not well documented. Does anyone know recent info as to how long the wait is for a first consult with Dr. Herron? Were most of you unsure at first if you wanted to go with the gastric bypass or this procedure and what made you make your final decision to have BPD/DS...what finally convinced you. I really want to be sure i am making the right decision. I am young and want a good future ahead of me and i want the procedure with the best, most long-term weight loss success. I can't help but feel i want to look good and feel good but i can't seem to get the looking good part out of my mind as what seems so important to me. I know i should be doing this for health reasons, and don't get me wrond, I am, but for some reason i can't shake the feeling that looking good is so important to me. I am at the age where i want to get a boyfriend and eventually get married. I feel so guilty over wanting to look good taking such priority in my mind. Please someone, reassure me that i am not crazy. Thanks a million and God bless all of you. Love, Doreen V.
