Hi, Gobo,

I am on my third of four weeks of Flagyl (actually 30 days' worth) @

250 mg x 3/day. For the first two weeks, it seemed to work quite

well for me. Then, i had a bad spell for about 3-4 days: worst

smells I ever made--stripped the paint off the walls--and

loosey-goosey. Now, things are better again, though the " fragrance "

lingers on. It is possible that the bad spell might have been

related to something that I ate for which there were no " good "

bacteria in my gut to digest (hint: I had a meal of assorted

sushi--raw fish--just before the bout). At any rate, i have a week

or so of the dose left to take.

I load up on the mixed acidophilus culture to combat the toll on my

" good " bacteria from the Flagyl.

Some folks wrote of a metallic taste from the Flagyl. I never had

that, but I got the generic pills, and they were not coated, and as

soon as they were in my mouth, they left a terribly bitter taste.

However, a few bites of something with a good taste got rid of the

taste.

All-in-all, my experience with Flagyl so far has been a mixed bag.

At least, it seems to have pretty well eliminated the major gas that

I was getting every afternoon (many days, I had to loosen my belt, as

I was ballooning).
