Guest guest
Mike, I have the Prednisone sleeplessness too. I found that if I do not take my Lunesta ( Ambien didn't work at all) for two days then it works again for about a month. Then I have another "Drug Holiday" and start over again ..I do loads of computer games for two straight nights!!! I even get laundry done! Sorry...no real remedies...sometimes a really bad movie works! Z fibriotic NSIP/05 Z 65, fibriotic NSIP/05/PA And “mild” PH/10/07 No, NSIP was not self-inflicted…I never smoked! Guest guest
Mike: I'm on 40mg prednisone, no Cellcept. I take 200mg of Trazadone to sleep. Prior to the prednisone, I took 75-100mg of Trazadone, but it wasn't enough. Talk to your doctor. Guest guest
Mike, Ask your doctor for Lunesta. I had been on Ambien before my transplant due to my back problems making it hard for me to sleep. Right after the transplant when I was on such high doses of Prednisone, CellCept and Prograff I could not sleep. I am only on 250 mg of CellCept twice a day now, 5 mg of Prednisone and 3 mg of Rapamune to replace the Prograf. Still if I get too much caffine in a day even the Lunesta doesn't help. In particular I drank 2 glasses of ice tea the other day at lunch time; and it took me a longer time to get to sleep. I drink coffee every morning, but make it with half regular and half decaf; and I don't drink soda with caffine very often, definitely not in the evening. I also take one Zanaflex (muscle relaxer) at bedtime; and now I get 8 to 9 hours of sleep even though I may wake up 2 or 3 times during the night - mostly due to my back problems. I also read when I get in bed to help get me drowsy. Good Luck. Judy (Ohio) IPF 11/06 TX 8/07 > > Hi, > > Since taking the Prednisolone (I'm also using Cellcept) sleeping is a problem. Guest guest
Joyce, My doctor told me to not take naps during the day; and I didn't even do it back right after the transplant when I slept very little at night. Going to the YMCA to work out in the senior swimming pool has helped me not only made me stronger but tires me out enough to sleep better. In fact I started to fall asleep siting in my chair watching TV around 9:30 last eve, so went to bed and read. Then I slept. Guest guest
So Mike have you even been tested for sleep apnea? Do you wake up with a headache, snore, have a sore throat, or find yourself jerking awake? I also take Ambine and Prednisone and was experiencing the same problem with diminishing results. I have a CPAP now and I sleep more easily and deeply. If I am wired up at bedtime I take an Ativan to ease me into a more calm state. Do I feel like a junkie? You betcha. I can live with that as long as I can sleep. Sometimes I get all wild and crazy if am having RA pain or some of the other fun things I have, I throw in a muscle relaxer. And I have a really rigid routine at night so my body knows what it is supposed to do. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Sleeping is a major problem and should be addressed like any other physical problem. s, Lubbock, TX NSIP w/PF 12/2006 et al > > Hi, > > Since taking the Prednisolone (I'm also using Cellcept) sleeping is a problem.
