We just got an adjustment yesterday and I see a pressure spot on a already flat

part of my son's head that I want to round out. Should I wait the 2 weeks for

our next adjustment or go in sooner?

(I have heard that those of you with DOC bands go in weekly. Is that true? Do

you have it adjusted every time or just monitored?)

Trying not to be worried, becasue I think our orthotist is good, I just want the

best outcome possible.

I would probably call and ask about it on Monday. There shouldn't be a pressure

spot on the flat area, and it might need further adjustment. I don't think I

would wait two weeks.

Typically (re: DOCBands in particular), adjustments occur every 1 or 2 weeks,

depending on the age of the baby. Babies who are banded at 4 months old are

going to be seen every week because they're growing so fast. Some are seen every

2 weeks. My son went every 3 weeks because he was so much older and growth was

slower. In general the band is adjusted at each visit.

Thank you so much for the reasurances. I will call on Monday. I have been able

to reposition the band slightly so that there are no pressure spots most of the

time, but I'll still see what the ortho says.

Anytime you have a question you should give em a call and go in. With out seeing it I cannot say if it is normal... Does it disappear after 1 hour or is it still there? If it is there after an hour then FOR SURE go in... you do not want the skin to break down.
