Guest guest
So my son has been in his starband for a week now. I feel like I already see improvement, but it might just be my imagination. He's adjusted really well to it, except for sweating a ton (we live in FL, so it is HOT outside!). I've had TONS of comments, mostly people telling me how cute his is (probably, b/c they don't know what to say) and then others telling me how their kid had a helmet or they know of someone who had one. Anyways, the point of my post was to say that a bunch of people who had a helmet or know of someone who had one say how it didn't work for their kid and how it was a waste of money. WHY would anyone tell me that??? I feel like I already see improvement, so I don't really pay much attention, but just makes me mad. Anyone else have similar experiences???? Guest guest
Hi Jen, my son (10months old) has been in his DOC band since Jan 12th and is getting it off this Friday. You are not crazy, we saw results rapidly at first and then it will slow down but you will still notice. I cannot beleive anyone would say that it was a waste of money. Two of my friends kids wore it and saw great results as well. My son had severe plagio and it was the best thing we ever did. Now I can look at his cute little round head with no regrets! His helmet had a "cool dude" sticker on it and most of the time people just commented on that. It was cute how kids would be daring enough to ask why he was wearing it. Usually I just volunteered the information so that adults wouldnt think there was something drastically wrong with him. However I did have an older woman ask if he was wearing it for a reason, and I really felt like saying no I just wanted him to wear this lovely contraption on his head for fun. One of my neighbors thought since I am a first time mommy that I put it on him so that he wouldnt bang/hurt his head.LOL-i'm not that crazy. This group is great for information! Guest guest
I seen improvement on my daughter in a week or so. Their heads shift dramatically. Ya, there is alway people out there saying that helmeting doesn't work, but I am a firm believer in helmeting. Guest guest
LOL... Its funny you said that because I went grocery shopping with my son yesterday and he was sitting in the cart and this man asked me if I put the helmet on him so if he fell off the cart he wouldn't hurt himself... Sooo funny! I barely kept myself from laughing...Sent via BlackBerry from T-MobileFrom: Lori Riolo Date: Wed, 13 May 2009 08:46:53 -0700 (PDT)<Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: one week in starband Hi Jen, my son (10months old) has been in his DOC band since Jan 12th and is getting it off this Friday. Guest guest
That's so exciting. My son has been in the starband over a week and I do not notice any difference. My first son wore the helmet too late (started at 11 mon.) and know I feel like the same thing is going to happen again. How old is your baby?
