Guest guest
Hello,I just finished a summer of nearly continuous prednisone. In the past it made me so nervous that I actually lost weight.... not so now!!! I have gained at least 10 to 15 lbs. It seems to have dispersed around my middle, especially the stick out in front middle. I also now enjoy prednisone induced diabetes. It is nearly gone after finishing the last round but still hanging around 200 BG at any given time. I will begin Metformin when my Rx arrives, using insulin injections when on pred. The question of eating? I am not one to teach much about it but find, when I am mentally undressing the fridge, I can tell myself, "How about NOTHING." I then get a glass or cup of calorie free something and many times can get through the evening like that. The other trick is to get something but cut the portion in half or even down to a third and take some deep breaths if that is possible for you. I will try the cup of something warm and anything else someone has found useful. Much of the eating is due to the stress of the drug; and relaxation techniques can help if you can manage them. UIP, HP, PF and who knows what occurred and when...... National Jewish promised to get back to me on that! I just went the first part of this month. So far I am pretty impressed. My Dr. was Stella Hines. Anyone else see her? ann (Mike)"Ifyou are going through hell, keep going." -Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
