Guest guest
Hi, Sorry to hear about everything with Autumn and your son too. My son is 5 and also had a small hard nodule (yep, I was freaking out too!) for about 3-4 weeks then it finally disappeared. It was weirdly located also - if you looked at hime from the back, about 4 " diagonally down and right from the bottom of the right side of his neck. Finally went away. Good luck! , mom to 5 and Emerence 2 RSS/SGA > > Hi. I havn't posted in a little while, things have been crazy since > Autumn has been home from the hospital. She is doing better, up to about 15 1/2 lb and on her way back to her 16 from before being sick. My question though, is about my 6 1/2 yr old son Skye. I have posted some about him before and I ask you all this because a lot of you are familiar with many different health problems. He is having growth issues too, like Autumn, but we cannot figure out what is wrong. He barely eats and says his stomach hurts when he does and for the past year he has stopped gaining weight and has only grown 1/2 inch in 8 mos. He is about 43 inches and just under 36 lbs, is 6 yrs 8 mos. He was born ave size and weight and then dropped and has been much below where he should be in height and weight although he has maintained his growth curve..is going off now some. He sees Autumn's endo and they did some tests and has an elevated sedimentation rate which I was told was a marker to look further and that something was going on in his body. He is now being tested for a few more things. Also his bone age is normal so growth delay is ruled out, short stature due to family is not here so I don't know what is going on. Does anyone here have any experience with elevated sedimentation rates? I am trying to get his health problems ruled out because he is about to undergo a full evaluation for an autistic disorder which he is believed to have also along with his ocd and anxiety problems and I wonder if something else could be involved. He also has a small hard lymph node on his bottom middle neck and the doc kept examining it and saying, 'hmm it's hard like a nodule and hmm it's in a unusual place'. It is smaller than the normal 'sick' lymph nodes and harder. So of course as a worried mom, I am imagining all sorts of horrible things when it is most likely nothing, any experience with small hard lymph nodes here? Sorry for all my questions, it seems like whenever I post it is always one question or another. mom to Autumn almost 15 mos RSS 27 1/2 inches, 15.5 lbs Ocean 2 1/2, Skye 6 1/2 , baby girl due in July ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi . Thanks, it's nice to hear someone else had a hard node and all is ok! Skye's is located exactly in the middle front of his neck on the bottom a little above the hollow between the collarbone. He found it 4 1/2 weeks ago and the endo said to call if it grows and it has now doubled in size but is still small, about the size of a small pea. I had my husband double check to make sure I wasn't being paranoid and he said it was definitly bigger so I don't know what the doc will say now? I hope I am just an over worried mom, I have never even checked for these things before on my kids, my son is the one who found it, he though something was stuck inside! I just decided to have the endo check it out when we were there for his growth/weight probs. How is Emerence doing? She is so cute, I love the pictures posted! mom to Autumn 15 mos RSS, Skye 6 1/2, Ocean 2 1/2 and baby girl due in July > > > > Hi. Guest guest
Thanks . Autumn is doing much better, not only is she back to eating food now, she even tries to eat things that aren't food! As for me, I am feeling so pregnant and worn out, these kids keep me on my toes nonstop and the doc visits are never ending! I am sure you know what that's like! How is , I just checked out the pics and saw the ones posted..she is very cute! I hope you are doing well! mom to Autumn 15 mos, Skye 6 1/2, Ocean 2 1/2, baby girl due in July > > Hi.
