Guest guest
Beth, I saw Dr. on last week. He said that he was wondering if I actually had IPF, although it was diagnosed by a biopsy. Then he ruminated a bit about whether I had any underlying medical issues, but then dismissed that idea. Perhaps my problem was PH, he said. So he ordered an echocardiogram, which was done while I was there. I now have to wait until he sends me results. There was one amusing episode. When I registered for the echocardiogram, the tiny elderly lady asked for my birth date, which I gave her. "That's wrong," she said. "It is, I insisted." "You don't look it," she said and demanded my ID. Then she registered me. My ct scan shows some mild progression and oddly my pft, specifically my FVC and my DLCO are somewhat lower than the last time I had them done in June. Nothing horrible, just not as good as I assumed based on how I've been feeling. Now I know that Bruce is going to respond that the numbers and the ct scan are useful and all but what really matters is how I've been feeling and I'm feeling good. This is absolutely positively true and so I'm not going to let this get to me. Tomorrow I go back to rehab and I will move forward. Dr. on is going to consult with my rheumatologist and we will probably increase the Imuran from 100mg to 150mg for awhile. So that's the story. All is well, just not as well as I would like it to be.
