Guest guest
Hi Everyone!! As most of you know, is mostly g-tube fed. A couple of months ago, we started lowering his daytime g-tube feeds, to accommodate the extra 70-100 oral calories we were getting in a day. We've been having a heck of a time trying to get to switch from Stage 2 baby foods to Stage 3. He just can't seem to get over the extra texture, and they create a LOT of gagging. Well, tonight we had the Geno's individual pizzas for dinner, and B went nuts, claiming that he wanted some pizza! So, of course, we gave him a slice (equal to about 1/6 of the pizza). The boy ate it ALL!!! And wanted something more!! So we gave him a small handful of Cheerios, which he promptly finished, and again requested more! We are SO thrilled!!!! One question though. Has anyone here, with a child with an oral aversion, ever just skipped the " Stages " of baby food, and gone straight to table food??? no longer has a feeding therapist, but when he did, she seemed to think that we needed to take this is slow easy steps, and that we needed to get him to eat stage 3 foods before we moved on to table food. Any ideas?? Thanks for letting me brag!! LOL Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 3 yrs old, 23.5#, 32.8 " , G-Tube)
