Guest guest
Well, Abby has a gtube and we are home after two nights in the hospital. After 8 feedings through the tube I know this was the right decision for us to make for her. Abby is doing well yet she is having a fair amount of pain/discomfort around the tube area, which is to be expected. Tylenol has become her best friend to take the edge off of the pain. Thank you to all of you wrote me and have posted messages in the past about gtubes. It was your support that gave my husband and I the courage to move forward with this tube. Abby has just over two weeks to feel really good and get ready for the big fundraiser here in Indy, but she is determined for that as she has more pictures to color for her people (her words) that come to the dinner. Thanks again to everyone!!!! Amy (mom to Abby-4 1/2 yrs, RSS, periactin, GH, gtube, prevacid; Tyler-3 yrs, nonRSS, wild child while visiting sister in the hospital...he liked making her bed go up and down; Baby Boy-being induced on June 26th...less than 14 weeks to go, but who's counting)
Guest guest
Amy, I'm glad that things went well with Abby. I'm also sure that she will be in fine condition for your big fundraiser in two weeks. Our kids bounce back so quickly. As you know, it is important to be on top of the pain. It is normal for her to feel sore and maybe not even be able to stand up straight for now. But the more you encourage her to walk around and stand up as straight as she can, the more quickly she will feel better. (Oh, how I remember when Max had his first g-tube placed!) Now try to get some rest yourself and prepare for the big party. I wish I could be there. I'm sure it will be wonderful. Take lots of pictures! Guest guest
Yahoo!!!! I am so glad things went well, and the fact that after 8 feeds you already feel so positive is a definite good sign. Please keep us posted. I am so sorry that I can not fly in for the fundraiser, but I know that Katy and her son will be AWESOME!!! I believe that s, co-founder of MAGIC and current managing director, is going to try and drive down from Chicago. I will be praying for all of you while I finally have a vacation, and try and get more of the Guidebook finished. I am so excited that I finished another section today -- " Cognitive/Intellectual Abilities of RSS/SGA Children. " Jenn > > Well, Abby has a gtube and we are home after two nights in the > hospital.
