Guest guest
I wrote to Tropical Traditions yesterday to ask about rusty brown stuff at the bottom of my Gold Label VCO, to ask what was it etc. I thought some of you might be interested in the reply: " Thank you for contacting Tropical Traditions! The brown sediment, which sometimes appears in the bottom of Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil, is coconut residue. This residue is naturally occurring and is a normal part of the process of producing the oil. It is high in protein and very nutritious. The oil is filtered as much as possible to remove the sediments or residue as it may produce an unpleasant taste in the oil, however, if the oil is filtered too much it degrades the quality of the oil. Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil has tested highest in antioxidants of any other oil produced in the Philippines. The Best If Used By Date of our Virgin Coconut Oil is 24 months. This date is a suggested Best If Used By Date, not an Expiration Date. This is not a purchase or safety date, it is the date that Tropical Traditions recommends for best flavor and quality of the product. However, once the Best If Used By Date is past, your product is still good for months and often years. "
