Help with Mini Button. . .it's STUCK!

Occasionally, when Alyssa's button wears out the extension starts coming out

of her button and we have to change the button. When I attempted to change

it this morning it wouldn't come out!! I drained all the water and air out

of her balloon until the syringe was collapsing from the suction, so I know

the balloon was empty. Then when I tried to pull the button out there was

some resistance. Alyssa then said " ouch mommy " and so I stopped. I tried

one more time and pulled until her tummy was actually being pulled, she said

" ouch " again and so I stopped. The button spins freely and I can't see

anything on the outside to indicate the problem. I thought I'd pick the

brains here before proceeding.

Has this ever happened to anyone else??? We don't have a GI as her button

was placed with Dr. H in NY so any thoughts would be appreciated before I

attempt again this afternoon.
