Guest guest
I'm in the same boat Darlene... I have sensitivities to eggs and dairy (including the homemade yogurt- I discovered that on my first intro attempt) and on top of that carrots and apples specifically always give me digestive troubles (which I omitted on my first attempt at intro). I'm redoing the intro after a couple weeks of being on SCD, because I messed up with consuming the dairy and probably too much fat. So I restarted today and basically, I'm eating bone broth, boiled meat/fish and some pureed boiled veggies (ones that I knew from beforehand that I can tolerate decently like zucchini). I decided to follow the GAPS intro guide this time since it's well planned out and does not start with the dairy and it seems to work better for someone who also has a problem with candida (like myself)- though I haven't decided if I'm going to add the egg yolk in stage 2 or not, I'll see (if you have an IgG antibody reaction to eggs, I would not attempt trying them until your gut is healed- so definitely not for intro, unless you know that the sensitivity is to the whites or the yolks specifically, then you could probably consume the part you aren't sensitive to). I hear ya on how boring and yucky this bland food can get! I'd stick to it though, at least for the first couple of days. If anything, I'd suggest sticking to the bone broths if you can tolerate them well, they seem to have some healing properties for the digestive tract. Good luck! (I used to be such a foodie in the past... this is so hard for me too, but I'm finding it helps just to distract myself with other things, just to get my mind off of the tasteless food I'm stuck eating...). Meli > > I started on intro today. I have very significant IgG antibodies in response to casein, eggs, all dairy, plus many other items not related to intro. I had decided to ignore my food allergy results just for these 2 days. I was even looking forward to it because my SCD diet, combined with my food allergy results, has made my choices almost unbearably restricted and I've found myself not enjoying anything I eat. Sometimes I find myself actually annoyed with hunger pangs because I'd rather not eat. (Can you hear the whine?) So I thought, yay!! yogurt for a couple of days! cheesecake!! eggs for breakfast! Variety!! > > Well, it's noon and my belly is swollen and distended about as far as it can reach and I feel yuck. I'm pretty skinny at 114 lbs and 5'1 " with this huge bloated belly. I'm wondering if this is why I felt so wretched the first time I did intro back in February this year. I was bedridden basically during the days of intro and afterward for a while. > > How do people do intro in this situation? Just the chicken broth and meat/fish??? Maybe some pureed vegies? I am ready to abandon intro this time around because it seems impossible to do it correctly. I'd be eating the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. > > I know I am snivelling. I'm just getting depressed with what I can eat, fast losing interest in what I can eat, nothing tastes very good to me anymore... and I know there are others out there, I've read your posts. You have very limited choices, too. > > Darlene > Intestinal Dysbiosis/fatigue > SCD 9 weeks >

Dripping the yogurt removes the galactose, which some people find difficult to digest. Personally, I do it because it makes it thicker and much less tart, thus it takes less fruit or honey to make it the luscious and delectable treat most of us love. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
