Guest guest
Hi kids, Just another strange question from here in rainy San Obispo, CA... I had my DS in April with Dr. K. Since then, I have never had a problem with food. Nothing has ever irritated my tummy...even in the hospital, I never felt full...never had nausea...just a-ok. Some mild gas with breads and pasta, so I avoid those, but that's it!! I had mentioned to Dr. K. that I never got a " Oh, I'm too full " feeling like other post ops talked about - that feeling like they were going to throw up from eating....he said that it was okay and that I was just listening to my body and stopping when I felt I had enough. Which seemed true to me...because I was! My question is this. I still never get the total full feeling. Not that I really want to feel stuffed to the gills or anything, I think in general I am just a worry wart! I wonder to myself, " Is my pylorus really even working...shouldn't I feel full? " Also when I drink my water, I feel like it's automatically pushing all of my food down through my intestine and I have to go to the bathroom within about an hour of drinking about 6 ounces of water in about 5 minutes. Sound familiar to anyone? I am almost 7 months out and find myself able to eat about 60% of what I used to. Though some days, I can only eat about 45-50 % of what I used to. Does this sound normal? In addition, sometimes when I eat something sugary, I get mild cramping in my lower intestine for about 1 minute. No nausea or anything...no dumping just the cramps. Could this be from my pylorus not functioning? I have read on this list some risk that someone's doctor mentioned about being in surgery and if they get too close to some specific area, it can bruise the pylorus or stop it from working completely...I am not a doctor...and cannot even fully remember what I read, and couldn't find anything in a search of files regarding this... I mean, how do we really know if our pylorus working? Steve, , ...what do you think? Am I just nuts or what? Curiously awaiting your responses.
